California 70.3 and Team Timex Camp!
Posted in Racing by Kyle MarcotteI just wanted to wish all my teammates good luck at the California 70.3 this weekend. If for some reason the race doesn’t go well, keep the excuses handy:
1. First race on a new bike, haven’t quite dialed in the position yet.
2. First race with new wetsuit, haven’t quite dialed in the position yet.
3. I’m a right brain person, and this is a left-brain person’s course.
4. Spent too much with time Bruce Gennari on the way down, enough said.
5. Just because my aunt (or girlfriend, or wife, or sister, or friend) is pregnant, I’m pregnant too.
6. The water was too cold and I’m not used to swimming in water.
7. Sharks eat people, so I spent the entire swim trying to look like a rock.
8. I put on so much sunscreen, the sun actually pushed me backwards.
9. Pre-race breakfast of Chili Rellenos at sidewalk taco stand didn’t work out as planned, but surprisingly better than two-month old hot dog.
10. Carole Sharpless scares me. (ez Sharpie).
