Finishing a bike race at 14,264 ft.

Posted in Racing by Tim Hola

Today I finished a bike race and the finish line was at 14,264 feet.  It was the Mt. Evans Hill Climb that started in Idaho Springs, CO.  I’ve never done it before, so I signed up as a CAT4, polished up the Madone and was on my way.  It’s a straight up climb for 28 miles starting at approx. 7500 ft.  The Bodylink showed a 7619 ft climb.  The Trek Madone did not dissapoint.  Check out my Bodylink profile below.  The heart rate was a little scary, but I still felt pretty good the whole time:

Up and down!

Up and down!

I finished in 2:14.  Not sure of my place but I think it was in the top 15 or so. It was great weather, and all the gear worked perfectly.  Thanks Timex and Trek for all the support.  The gear you provide us is outstanding!

Love the gear...
