A couple of months ago I was able to volunteer at  The Houston Kids Triathlon.  The day before the event they had a bunch of local triathletes come and talk to the kids during packet pickup. A lot of the kids were genuinely excited to get out there to race, there weren’t too many kids that were actually nervous. The next day it was awesome to see so many little kids (I think 1,000+!!!) out there swimming, biking and running their hearts out. I really enjoyed how the parents tried to motivate with ice cream and any color gatorade they wanted at the finish line. At the awards ceremony some kids got bored and ended up doing the Mocharena on the podium… Oh to be a kid again.
