First Look: Native Eyewear Nova Polarized Sunglasses

Posted in Fun by

I recently purchased a pair of high performance active wear sunglasses from a link on Native Eyewear’s website.  This model is called Nova.  It retails between $109 and $149 depending on whether you purchase the Sportflex or Reflex.  The Nova best fits a medium to large profile face.   I’ve been wearing these during both my training runs as well as cycling.   A few of the features I wanna share with you are, first of all the frame.

Native calls it their Rhyno-Tuff® Air Frames which is their proprietary high-performance thermoplastic material.  There are extremely lightweight, yet durable enough to withstand high-velocity collisions and temperature extremes.  I like how the venting system is set up. I know exhaust vents are nothing new but when they enhance airflow and virtually eliminate fog and condensation, I’m much happier athlete.

Native also has what it calls, Cam-Action Hinges.  This is a patented feature which allows the temples to quickly lock into position.  Another fancy term used to describe the way it fits is Native’s Mastoid Temple Grip.  This is another  proprietary design feature, that ensures that the temple ends hug the mastoid bone (behind your ears) allowing for a secure and  comfortable fit.  For the daredevil in you, trust that NATIVE is thinking about you too.  They have a featured called their Anti-Ocular Intrusion System.  It’s designed to prevent your lenses from shooting back at you in the event of an impact.

All lenses offer 100% UV protection and this includes the SportFlex lens, Yellow, Orange, and Clear lenses.  Another nice feature and long term value is Native’s Polarized Crystal Carbonate lenses.  According to Native, these have the strongest hard coating available to protect against scratching.  Nothing is more frustrating than dropping your sunglasses and getting a scratch.  This is very helpful.  By the way, Native’s Polarized lenses reduce 99% of visible glare from water, snow, sand and pavement for increased visual acuity and decreased eye strain.

Native, features a complete line of high performance sunglasses and goggles loaded with tons of technology and backed with a lifetime warranty.

I highly recommend checking out the NOVA by Native Eyewear by visiting NativeEyewear.com.
