Posted in Fun by

It’s an annual Ironman World Championship tradition, the Parade of Nations ceremony in Kona, Hawaii. This is the time when all the athletes gather with their fellow countryman and walk as a group down Alii Drive.  The video below shows the action on Tuesday, October 9th as reported by Dave Erickson and Angi Greene from Ironman.com.

The 2012 Ironman World Championship race is on Saturday, October 13. You can catch all the action live on race day via the live webcast on Ironman.com beginning at 6 a.m. Hawaii Time.

About the event: The 2.4-mile swim begins and ends at Kailua Pier. The 112-mile bike course travels through scorching lava fields and along the Kohala Coast. The 26.2-mile run takes athletes on the Queen Ka’ahumanu highway, ending at Ali’i Drive to the cheers of thousands of spectators at the finish line.
