Timex Multisport Team Members Podium Against the Worlds Best at the 2007 Ford Ironman World Championship 70.3.

On a gorgeous sun-filled day in Clearwater, FL, the conditions were ideal for fast splits and the athletes didn’t disappoint.  The world’s best athletes took to the 2007 Ford Ironman World Championship 70.3 and when the sand settled 4 Timex Multisport Team Members had themselves a top 10.

Heading up the Timex Multisport Team charge was Connecticut native, Chris Thomas, who let his bike do the talking with at 2:11:06 over the 56-mile course.  He placed 3rd in a very competitive 35-39 category, and also was the largest field in the race.

Boulder, Colorado resident, Erin Kummer, who has won many age group titles throughout the 70.3 circuit tried her hand against the field and came away with an impressive 4th in the 18-24 age group with a total time of 4:48:15.

Rachel Ross who just came off a great Kona finish, with a 2nd overall female amateur, tried to see if here legs would respond and came away with a 5th in the 30-34 age category.

April Gellatly, who also raced in Kona, came away with an 8th in the 18-24 age category with a total time of 5:06:41.

Continued Success for the Timex Multisport Team at the 2007 Subaru Ironman Canada

The Timex Multisport Team continued with their successful season as they headed into Sunday’s 2007 Subaru Ironman Canada race.

In the Pro Men’s race, Ukranian native, Andriy Yastrebov, used the 3rd fastest run (2:57:02) to secure a hard fought 4th place.  Jordan Rapp scorched the bike course pulling off an impressive (4:48:39) bike split, which was the 2nd fastest of the day, and came home in 5th place overall.   Canadian, Kyle Marcotte who raced consistently all day finished with the 6th fastest time of the day.

The Pro Women had a good day as Jacqui Gordon came through with 12th overall, while 23-year old Laura Tingle scored a 15th.

Canadian Cat Brown had a stellar day and used the fastest run (3:31:04) in her age group (25-29) to finish in 2nd place.

Next up for the Timex Multisport Team is the 2007 Ford Ironman Wisconsin race held in Madison, Wisconsin on September 9th.

Overall Win for Mroszczyk-McDonald at the 2007 Ford Ironman USA Lake Placid

Lake Placid, NY. July 22, 2007

Alex Mroszczyk-McDonald of the Timex Multisport Team scored his biggest win to date with an overall victory at the 2007 Ford Ironman USA Lake Placid.  The Burlington, VT resident used a sub-3 hour (2:59:36) marathon to capture the overall title with a winning time of 9:16:02.

Canadian Marie Danais battled through foot issues and achieved a 9th place in the women’s only pro race with a total time of 10:17:01.

Zyemstev Wins 2007 Ford Ironman Coeur d’Alene

Timex Multisport Pro Viktor Zyemstev used the fastest run of the day (2:47:05) to secure his 2nd Ford Ironman Coeur d’Alene vitory.  Viktor ran down Canadian Pro and 2-time Ironman Champ, Tom Evans, in the closing miles to secure his 6th Ironman victory.

As the race unfolded it looked as though it was going to be a close finish.  After the champagne cork flew, Viktor spoke about the last few miles as he and Evans ran shoulder-to-shoulder.  “We ran together through the last four miles.  I try to push all the time, but he stayed with me.  I felt bad and a little dizzy, I pushed again at mile 25 and he backed off.”
“I don’t know if I had another one, but it’s better I push early to see what he does.  I knew when he didn’t go with me, I had it.”
