Timex Multisport Pro Viktor Zyemstev used the fastest run of the day (2:47:05) to secure his 2nd Ford Ironman Coeur d’Alene vitory. Viktor ran down Canadian Pro and 2-time Ironman Champ, Tom Evans, in the closing miles to secure his 6th Ironman victory.

As the race unfolded it looked as though it was going to be a close finish. After the champagne cork flew, Viktor spoke about the last few miles as he and Evans ran shoulder-to-shoulder. “We ran together through the last four miles. I try to push all the time, but he stayed with me. I felt bad and a little dizzy, I pushed again at mile 25 and he backed off.”
“I don’t know if I had another one, but it’s better I push early to see what he does. I knew when he didn’t go with me, I had it.”

Top Results in April for the Timex Multisport Team.

April, 2007

With April coming to a close, the Timex Multisport Team has had a busy albeit successful month in the multisport world. With such a great start to the season we look forward to seeing them build on the hard work that they have put in and the results are showing.

Rachel “Gumbate” Ross-

Rachel has had a whirlwind month. She is coming off 2 victories this month starting out on April 15th winning the Lanikai Tri in her home state of Hawaii. Soon after Rachel traveled to Miyakojima, Japan to compete in the Strongman Japan race where she tracked down the 2 leaders in the final 3.5 miles to capture the title.

Gabriela Loskotova-

On April 15th, Gabriela took 2nd place at Powerman Alabama and putting up a 2:42:45 for the 8K-53K-8K duathlon.

April Gellatly-

April also competed at the Powerman Alabama and she placed nd in the highly contested Women’s 25-29 category while posting a 3:06:22.

Brian Schaning-

Starting out with a win in your first race of the season is always a confidence booster and that is exactly what Brian did at the Coulee Duathlon as he battled against some top regional athletes. He moves onto the top step this year, as he placed 2nd last year.

Conrad Snover-

Conrad is our team’s outlaw single-speeder and he descended on Laguna Seca, CA to contest the Sea Otter Classic in the Pro/Expert Single-Speed XC race. Even with a flat tire he ended up placing a superb 7th after a death march from the depths of 40th position.

Kevin Grogan-

As one of our dual athletes, Kevin posted a 2nd place at the XTERRA Fort Yargo event in Georgia on the 28th, as well as racing to the Florida State Long Course Championships 2 weeks prior to his XTERRA result.

Juli Fiocca-

Juli raced to a 3rd place in her age group at the 2007 Ford Ironman Arizona race which also resulted in a spot in the Ironman World Championships race in Kona, Hawaii.

We want to thank all of our sponsors for their support of the Timex Multisport Team!
